Hayden Cardwell of Knoxville captured the Best Plumber 604 Racing Series "Halloween Havoc" Bulls Gap: The Last Stand $5,000 victory Saturday night at Volunteer Speedway. Cardwell was chased to the checkered flag by Zach Sise (Knoxville), Ross White (Knoxville), Philip Thompson (Whitesburg) and William Blankenship (McMinnville).

Hayden Cardwell of Knoxville brought out the broom for a clean sweep of Late Model action tonight, first capturing the $5,000 Best Plumber 604 Racing Series Crate Late Model win and followed with parking in victory lane with the $1,000 Sportsman Late Model payday. Finishing behind Cardwell were Josh Collins (Powell), Jody Horton (Sneedville), Terry Poore (Seymour) and Colby Horner (Knoxville).

Who says you can't go back home? Jimmy Owens of Newport honed his skills behind the wheel of a race car on the legendary high banks at Volunteer Speedway, before he became a superstar capturing UMP Open Wheel Modified, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and Hunt The Front Super Dirt Series championships.
"The Newport Nightmare" set fast time in qualifying to earn pole position for the 25-lap Open Wheel Modified feature, but David Clark (Tazewell) grabbed the lead on the start. Owens pressured Clark until moving into the lead with five circuits remaining, and he went on to record the $1,000 victory over Clark. Finishing third through fifth, respectively, were Jesse Rupe (Sophia, W.Va.), Brad Dyer (Mohawk) and Pierce McCarter (Seymour).
